Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Accounting Manager for our fast-paced production environment. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to grow with an expanding small firearms manufacturer.

The successful candidate will be a key member of our leadership team, providing financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and business decisions.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and cash forecasting.

2. Enforce proper accounting methods, month end close policies and procedures.

3. Maintain schedule of weekly cash flow.

4. Maintain and enforce proper internal operational controls to ensure shipping, inventory management and ordering are processed correctly.

5. Review BOMs, Routings and Work Orders to ensure the accuracy of COGs by product line.

6. Coordinating and completing annual audits.

7. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.

8. File quarterly excise taxes and yearly property taxes.

9. Managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts.

10. Manage debt schedule and fixed assets.

11. Supervising, mentoring, and ensuring the professional growth of staff accountant.

12. Review the work of cross functional team members in the inventory, shipping and sales departments.

13. Additional responsibilities as delegated by management.

Required Qualifications:

1. A BA/BS degree in Accounting; CPA Preferred

2. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting environment,

3. At least 5 years of leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team.

4. Proficiency in Corporate Finance and Cost Accounting.

5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.

6. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

8. Proficiency in ERP accounting systems and implementations.

9. Advanced excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)

10. Hands-on experience with Acumatica is highly desired, otherwise advanced knowledge of ERP software.

11. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve financial issues.

12. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while delivering results.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 10 to 20 pounds.

  • Must be able to communicate electronically, on the phone, and in person.

  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.

  • Must be mobile enough to move around the office, production area, and property.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with vendors, customers, and associates.

  • Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.

  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.

  • Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to business duties.
