Senior Director - Product Management & Demand Creation
Custom MCU Silicon
Job Level: Senior Director (JL11)
Organization: GlobalFoundries - MIPS Custom Silicon
Role Summary
Owns product strategy, demand creation, and commercial outcomes for the Custom MCU silicon platform, including control-centric SoCs, automotive MCUs, and industrial embedded processors built on MIPS architectures.
Acts as the platform business and product leader, responsible for roadmap definition, go-to-market strategy, business development, and applications engineering, enabling expansion into automotive (zonal/domain), industrial control, and IoT markets.
This role is central to scaling GF/MIPS in control-oriented silicon TAM segments and driving repeatable custom platform adoption.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the MCU platform roadmap, including compute, peripherals, connectivity, and analog integration aligned to customer needs.
  • Drive demand creation and market penetration in automotive (zonal controllers, powertrain, body), industrial control, and IoT segments.
  • Own product positioning and marketing strategy for MIPS-based MCU platforms, emphasizing performance, power efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
  • Lead applications engineering and solution enablement, including SDKs, reference platforms, and system-level use cases.
  • Build and convert a strong business development pipeline, working closely with key customers and ecosystem partners.
  • Partner with Hardware, Software, and Architecture teams to translate control-system requirements (real-time performance, functional safety, integration) into scalable silicon platforms.
  • Drive platform adoption models, including standardization, reuse, and customization frameworks across multiple customer programs.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of semiconductor experience with strong background in MCUs, embedded processors, or SoCs.
  • Demonstrated success managing product lines or platforms with revenue ownership or growth impact.
  • Experience working across product, marketing, applications, and business development teams.

Expected Salary Range
$214,000.00 - $356,000.00
