About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional who can quickly integrate into the role, work independently, and contribute immediately to the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes. Fixed asset accounting experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing or oil and gas environment. 
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the timely completion of monthly close activities including the preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and assisting with ad-hoc reports and special requests as needed. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations through understanding the why, technical know-how, and bringing a fresh perspective to conventional accounting tasks.
  • Review and analyze corporate data to identify errors, omissions, and opportunities to improve.
  • Prepare month-end entries, review, and reconciliation of Fixed Asset schedules, Prepaid Expenses, Accruals and Inventory accounts.
  • Identify and propose process improvements & support the implementation of on-going process improvement initiatives where applicable.
  • Support year-end audit.
  • Undertake special projects related to streamlining finance processes.
  • Other duties and projects to assist the finance team.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) would be an asset
  • Advanced skills in Excel would be an asset
  • Experience in the oilfield service and/or manufacturing would be a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with a multi-company, multi-country, and multi-currency accounting structures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency.

In office position, full-time M-F, Location - Conroe, TX.
