One Federal Solution is seeking a Technical Writer to support the United States Marshals Service (USMS) by providing technical writing, policy development, and program documentation support. The selected individual will assist with drafting, editing, reviewing, and managing policy directives, strategic planning documents, and other organizational materials. The Technical Writer must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced federal environment.

Technical Writer Tasks and Duties:
  • Write and draft policy directives, strategic plans, and other planning documents.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and policy development processes.
  • Edit and proofread policy directives and strategic planning documents for grammatical, formatting, and content inconsistencies.
  • Plan, review, and manage the flow of policy documents throughout the review process.
  • Upload and maintain policy documentation on internal web pages and SharePoint sites.
  • Organize and maintain files related to policy directives and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Gather information from various sources and provide data analysis and process improvement recommendations.
  • Track policy directives and strategic planning processes.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly status reports.
  • Provide general administrative and program support as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and stakeholders regarding policy updates and documentation requirements.
Technical Writer Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust background investigation.
  • Must have at least two years of specialized experience related to technical writing, policy development, or project management.
  • Effective technical writing and oral communication skills are required.
  • Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal employees as well as outside sources.
