What does a successful Merchant Account Executive do at Fiserv?

The Financial Institution (FI) Acquiring Account Executive is the lead salesperson providing strategic and consultative management for a portfolio of existing clients in the FI Acquiring vertical! As the strategic advisor to the client, you will be required to have an in-depth understanding of the client's business, goals, strategies, and industry trends and directions. This role is focused on helping FI clients grow their business by leveraging large, multi-disciplined projects, multiple Fiserv sales teams, and integrating a broad set of business development initiatives in complex client environments.

What you'll do:

  • Identifying and advancing broader enterprise-wide opportunities to deepen the partner wallet share

  • Generating new demand, revenue, profit margin, and retention for Fiserv with an assigned mix of current clients in the FI Acquiring vertical

  • Conducting a regular cadence of communication with the client at all levels and disciplines by effectively articulating the Fiserv value propositions

  • Often leading multiple initiatives concurrently, potentially in different distribution models, in a manner that will identify merchant prospects and drive those new sales opportunities to closure within Fiserv's sales distribution channels

  • Leading and developing an account strategy aligning Fiserv's growth plans and opportunities to those of the client

  • Ensuring proactive accountability to the client, leading to an improved client experience and retention

  • Elevating and closing client issues quickly and effectively with a sense of urgency

  • You must be able to work in a virtual team setting to coordinate the appropriate resources to meet varying client requirements. This will include multiple Global Business Solutions (GBS) client service and sales models, Credit/Risk, Product, as well as collaboration across the Financial Institution Group (FIG) and the Enterprise Sales organization to ensure the client is presented with a one Fiserv view of the relationship.

Experience you'll need to have: :

  • Experience building and sustaining relationships at a very high level with clients

  • Domain expertise in the FI Acquiring industry market

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • A background in the following areas: banking, card processing, merchant processing, check services, prepaid, and alternative payments

  • Prior experience of successfully working in a dynamic, matrix environment

  • Excellent verbal and communications skills

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Bachelors Degree

Travel:

  • Approximately 50% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected

Salary Range

$82,700.00 - $175,900.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Massachusetts, California (excluding Sunnyvale) and District of Columbia. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
