Job description

Catbird is hiring for a Merchandise Planner to join the team. In this role, you'll oversee sales and
inventory planning across our growing jewelry collection, helping us balance data-driven
precision with creativity. This is a full-time position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced
environment and enjoys working cross-functionally. You'll collaborate closely with
merchandising, retail, finance and operations teams to ensure the right pieces are in the right
place at the right time.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Brooklyn, NY office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Planning, Projections: analyze sales, stock levels, margin and other key metrics. Own
    end to end merchandise planning, delivering sales projections and target stock levels by
    sku, style, product type, location,
  • Open-to-Buy: develop and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans, recommend shifts in
    purchasing based on performance and trends.
  • Reporting, Analysis: prepare regular reports, presenting recommendations re
    assortment edits, product or category opportunities, liabilities.
  • Allocation, Inventory: provide per location sku minimums and assess stock balance
    transfer efficiency; allocate inventory to optimize sell through, margin and stock
    efficiency
  • KPIs: Monitor inventory KPIs such as revenue, profitability, turn, and sell-through;
    identify risks and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Management/Leadership: manage, develop and train assistants and coordinators
  • Oversee the proper execution of department tasks. Co-manage projects and initiatives.
    Represent Merchandising in interdepartmental efforts
