As a Mechanical Project Coordinator at Frontier-Kemper, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical projects while ensuring all work aligns with technical specifications, project budgets, schedules, and established quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and meet or exceed client expectations.

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong mechanical engineering expertise, proven project coordination experience, and a track record of successful project execution.   • Coordinating mechanical projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring adherence to project design specifications and timelines.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical designers, contractors and project managers, to develop project plans and budgets.

  • Conducting site assessments to determine project feasibility, gather technical requirements, foster client relationships and perform QA/QC checks throughout the entire process.

  • Overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of proprietary system designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

  • Ensuring projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.

  • Analyze project requirements and develop detailed plans to present to the customer.

  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, resources and budgets for hoist-related projects.

  • Work with design teams to ensure engineering plans meet technical requirements and regulatory standards, while being workable in the field for installation.

  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures throughout project phases that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor and report on project progress to FKC Lake Shore Management, the customer and all downstream workflows, identifying and addressing potential issues.

  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to mechanical codes and standards.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.

  • Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical project coordination.

  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical hoisting equipment design and operation.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems and components.

  • Proficiency in project management software and mechanical design tools.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical projects.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in dynamic project environments.

  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in mechanical engineering.

  • Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

  • Awareness of mining industry-specific codes and regulations throughout multiple countries

  • Proficiency in project design and planning, management, costing and documentation.

  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or relevant certifications preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting underground mining operations.

  • Familiarity with automation and control systems.

  • Experience with project management tools and software.
