Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance of Laser Cutting Machines, Press Forming Machines, and Robotic Welding & Automation Lines. The candidate will focus on maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and improving MTBF while minimizing MTTR through structured maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
  • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of laser cutting, press forming, and Robotic automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot motors, servo drives, VFDs, PLC systems, sensors, encoders, and control panels.
  • Maintain MCC panels, switchgear, relays, and power distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve CNC and automation line electrical faults.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.

Mechanical Maintenance
  • Maintain mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, ball screws, guide rails, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Perform alignment, installation, and commissioning of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns in hydraulic presses, robotic arms, and material handling systems.
  • Implement lubrication and preventive inspection schedules.

Laser Cutting Machines
  • Maintain laser source, chiller systems, cutting heads, nozzles, and protective windows.
  • Ensure precision alignment and calibration.
  • Troubleshoot CNC and gas pressure-related issues.

Press Forming Machines
  • Maintain mechanical and hydraulic press systems.
  • Monitor clutch/brake systems, tonnage monitors, and safety interlocks.
  • Support die setup and press optimization.

Robotic Welding & Automation Systems
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of robotic welding cells using ABB industrial robots.
  • Diagnose servo motors, drives, controllers, and teach pendants.
  • Maintain PLC integration, I/O systems, sensors, and safety devices.
  • Ensure synchronization of automation lines and welding systems.

Reliability & Performance Management (MTBF / MTTR Focus)
  • Monitor and analyze MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) to improve equipment reliability.
  • Track and reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) through structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Prepare downtime analysis reports and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Preventive Maintenance & TPM
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain TPM check sheets and equipment history records.
  • Ensure critical spare parts availability.
  • Conduct periodic audits of maintenance practices.

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ensure functionality of safety interlocks, light curtains, and E-stops.
  • Maintain compliance with industrial safety regulations.
  • Follow 5S standards in maintenance areas.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts records.
  • Prepare MTBF, MTTR, and downtime trend analysis reports.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and automation teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
  • ___ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
