MK Industries is urgently hiring skilled tradespeople to join the MK team to fulfill hours throughout the area. Partner with your assigned Staffing Manager to gain access to available hours & ensure your needs are being met!

Start Date: ASAP

*INCREASED* Pay $38.00 to $45.00 per hour, plus $120.00 a day per diem, non-local

Job Description

Lay out, fits, aligns, and assembles prefabricated cast and forged components before welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations.

Performs fitting and machining operations such as straightening, grinding, burr, drilling, reaming, and countersinking materials to close tolerances. 

Refers to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and layout materials to be welded.

May repair or rework parts to restore them to required tolerances that have become distorted because of welding operations.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process. 

Qualifications

Ship Fitter experience is required

Must have prior shipyard experience of 1-5 years. 

2nd shift-3:30 pm to 12:00 am.

Testing Requirements: SMAW- 3F, 4F plate test. 3/8 " thickness (VT and Break)
