Job description

Meat Merchandiser
C amp;K Market, Inc has an exciting opportunity on the Merchandising team for a Meat Merchandiser! This position will be based at a store location but have responsibilities for the entire district. Travel is required.
This position will work with corporate and store level supervisors to ensure merchandising standards and store conditions will meet the financial and operational goals of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
  • Provide customer service, including training of the required customer service guidelines
  • Understand all corporate and divisional merchandising and operational standards and requirements
  • Assist store managers in the selection and training of store level department management
  • Review financial reports and verify that stores are taking action to correct negative trends
  • Supervise the implementation of divisional merchandising plans and ensure sales promotion/displays meet the established standards
  • Conduct store divisional inspections to inspect store conditions, merchandising standards, customer service performance, employee performance, and overall store operations
  • Maintain industry knowledge and trends by inspecting competitors and reviewing retail trade publications
  • Ability to be self-directed, take ownership of assigned duties, and excel in a team environment
  • Attend all mandated company training session and meetings (Manager Meetings, Train-the-Trainer sessions, etc.)
  • Participate in other Company related duties, activities, and functions, as requested
  • Ability to work weekends when necessary
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis within a large geographic area, multiple days per trip
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
  • Ability to work within rigid time frames and deadline
DESIRED, NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Corporate databases (Item Master, Movement)
  • Experience directing and participating on project teams
