Job description

Salary: $12.25 to $20.00, depending on experience

Are you a motivated, experienced shipping associate looking for a day-shift job with a dynamic team and plenty of opportunities to earn additional money through overtime hours and continued professional development? Villari Foods is currently seeking hard-working, disciplined individuals with previous forklift training to join our day-shift team. While the physical work environment is cold (our warehouse is kept at freezer temperatures for the preservation of the meat), our Shipping Department provides a warm opportunity for continuous development, cross-training, and promotion from within the company.


Primary job duties of our Shipping Associates include shipping and receiving, checking products, and inventory control. If you have experience as a forklift operator and/or warehouse training, are an effective communicator that can work independently and coordinate with others, and enjoy a warehouse work environment, apply today! Job duties:

  • Pull and prepare products for shipment. Pick orders, compare lot numbers, build pallets, unload and load trailers and verify proper stacking and freight on pallets. Tape or stretch-wrap pallet as required to ensure product stability.
  • Count product, compare counts to drivers manifest, and check shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates. Verify receipt of the product at the appropriate temperature.
  • Move product using a forklift, pallet jack, or other power equipment. Stack and store the product in appropriate areas. Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials. Pallet heights can reach up to 7 feet.
  • Identify and recover any received or shipping damage.
  • Assist in physical inventories with the use of scanners. Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.
  • Maintain the facilities, equipment, and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Inspect and verify equipment is in operating order each day before shift begins.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

To qualify for this job you must have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous forklift and warehouse training
  • Experience with stand-up lifts and riding pallets jacks
  • Availability to work third shift, 8:00pm to 4:00am, Sunday through Friday nights, with potential for overtime
  • Flexibility with work hours, in general
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Have good arithmetic (adding, subtracting, and multiplication) and English language reading skills
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instruction
  • Punctual with great attendance
  • Ability to satisfy physical requirements (see below)
