Fresh Department Specialist – Meat

Location: Mobridge, SD

Job Type: Full-Time and/or Part-Time

Department: Grocery Operations

Do you take pride in quality products, great presentation, and helping customers find exactly what they need? We're looking for a Fresh Department Specialist – Meat to help keep our meat department fresh, stocked, organized, and customer-ready. In this role, you'll stock and rotate products, assist customers, maintain attractive displays, monitor product quality, and help ensure the department meets our food safety and cleanliness standards. If you're dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

Customer Service

Deliver friendly, helpful, and timely customer service. Assist customers with product selection and questions. Provide product information to help customers make purchasing decisions. Help create a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Meat Department Operations

Receive and inspect incoming products for quality, temperature, and accuracy. Stock and rotate meat cases, coolers, and freezers. Maintain fresh, attractive, and well-stocked

displays. emove outdated or poor-quality products as needed. Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional displays. Assist with sampling programs and promotions.

Inventory & Merchandising

Unload deliveries and help organize incoming products. Maintain organized back stock and proper product storage. Monitor product levels and maintain accurate daily shrink records. Verify ads and keep current promotional signage in place. Safely operate assigned store and department equipment.

Food Safety & Cleanliness

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain clean and organized prep areas, coolers, freezers, and equipment. Handle and store products properly to maintain quality and freshness. Operate and sanitize meat department equipment safely.

 

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous grocery, meat department, retail, or customer service experience preferred. Food safety certification (ServSafe® or

equivalent) preferred. Reliable transportation to and from work.

Skills & Abilities

Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic math, weights, and measurement skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments. Ability to safely use knives, meat slicers, grinders, and other assigned equipment. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
