About Our Family
We're a laid-back couple living in Tacoma with our sweet cat, Selkie. We're looking for someone who can support our household through thoughtful, high-quality meal planning and preparation. We have specific sensory and dietary needs, and we value clear communication, patience and someone who can adapt recipes and ingredients as needed. We appreciate someone who can bring ideas to the table, suggest new recipes, help us build sustainable routines around food, and take ownership of the entire process.
We're warm people who value independence, reliability, and someone who can take initiative without needing constant oversight. While our needs are relatively straightforward, we are seeking a long-term commitment and trusting partnership in this role. One of our primary goals is to reduce the stress associated with meal planning and preparation while making it easier to enjoy more meals at home. We're excited to find someone who is passionate about food, organization and assisting us with building sustainable habits that can support our home for years to come.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You're proactive, experienced, and genuinely passionate about food, nutrition, and helping others eat well. You're able to confidently own and create systems around meal prep; creating healthy, approachable meals that work within our dietary restrictions and preferences. You are someone who enjoys creative, budget-conscious cooking and can thoughtfully plan meals that are both nourishing and practical for everyday life. You're detail-oriented and understand that consistency and reliability are just as important as culinary skill.
You work independently, stay organized, and have a calm, steady presence. You're warm and professional with healthy boundaries. We especially appreciate experience with neurodivergence or accommodating sensory-based food preferences, but more than anything we're looking for someone adaptable, dependable, intuitive and emotionally intelligent.
Above all, we're looking for someone who sees meal preparation as more than just cooking. You're passionate about helping others reduce the stress and mental load associated with food. You take pride in creating meals and routines that support health and every day well-being. You can thoughtfully manage our weekly meal-prep goals with efficiency, transparent communication and genuine care.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Support
  • Own and manage the households meal preparation for 4-5 meals per week
  • Create weekly meal plans based on family preferences, dietary restrictions and seasonal availability
  • Coordinate menus in advance and adjust based on feedback
  • Align with family preferences and accommodate dietary restrictions including lactose intolerance and allium intolerance
  • Package and label prepared meals with storage and reheating instructions
  • Introduce new recipes and meal ideas
  • Follow proper food safety, storage and sanitation practices
Inventory & Errands
  • Grocery shopping for meal-related items
  • Track shopping receipts and stay within budget
  • Deliver fresh meals to the home twice per week
