Position Summaryย
The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) embedded within the MCDC organization, providing consultative, client-facing HR support to leaders and employees across multiple dental center locations. This role goes beyond transactional HR - it requires a seasoned professional who can influence culture, drive workforce strategy, and serve as a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, operational agility, and a genuine passion for people and mission-driven work.ย
Key Responsibilitiesย
Strategic HR Business Partnershipย
- Serve as a dedicated HRBP to assigned client groups, building trusted relationships with leaders and frontline teams across center locations.ย
- Provide proactive, data-informed HR counsel on workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, and talent development.ย
- Partner with the CPO and leadership team to alignย peopleย strategies with organizational goals and mission.ย
- Travel up to 20% to center locations to provide on-site HR presence, support, and partnership.ย
Employee Relations & Complianceย
- Lead complex employee relations investigations with objectivity, thoroughness, and legal compliance.ย
- Interpret and apply company policies, the Employee Handbook, and applicable federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, I-9).ย
- Advise managers on performance improvement, corrective action, and conflict resolution with a coaching mindset.ย
Talent Acquisition & Onboardingย
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for assigned client groups, including sourcing, screening, offers, and credentialing for clinical staff.ย
- Drive a best-in-class onboarding experience, ensuring new hires are set up for success from day one.ย
- Partner with hiring managers to develop role profiles, compensation recommendations, and workforce plans.ย
Compensation & Benefitsย
- Provide compensation analysis and pay recommendations grounded in market data and internal equity.ย
- Support annualย benefitsย open enrollment and serve as an escalation point for employee benefits inquiries.ย
- Administer and track leaves of absence including FMLA, short-term disability, and workers' compensation claims.ย
Coaching, Training & Cultureย
- Design andย facilitateย leadership coaching sessions, soft skills training, and team effectiveness initiatives.ย
- Champion employee recognition programs and engagement efforts that reinforce MCDC's culture and values.ย
- Act as a culture ambassador - modeling and advocating for an inclusive, high-performance work environment.ย
HRIS & HR Operationsย
- Maintain data integrity within the HRIS, including employee records, reporting, and workflow coordination.ย
- Develop and present periodic HR metrics, dashboards, and workforce analytics to inform decision-making.ย
- Support HR process improvement initiatives and contribute to the evolution of MCDC'sย peopleย operations infrastructure.ย
Qualificationsย
Requiredย
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, orย a relatedย field.ย
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, withย demonstratedย expertiseย in a strategic HRBP or senior generalist capacity.ย
- Provenย track recordย of building trusted client relationships and influencing without authority.ย
- Deep working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, I-9).ย
- Experience managing complex employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations.ย
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable HR insights.ย
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; executive presence and comfortย presenting toย leadership.ย
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% to MCDC center locations across Michigan.ย
- Mustย be authorized toย work in the United States without sponsorship.ย
Preferredย
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).ย
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or other regulated/clinical environments.ย
- HRISย proficiencyย (Rippling, UKG, Workday, or comparable platform).ย
- Experience supporting multi-site or geographically distributed organizations.ย
- Background in coaching, leadership development, or organizational effectiveness.ย
