Job description


We are seeking a motivated and organized Laboratory Coordinator to assist in leading daily operations within our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) laboratory.
This role oversees laboratory workflow, quality standards, team coordination, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
  • Assist the laboratory manager coordinating daily laboratory testing activities for soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
  • Ensure testing is completed accurately and in compliance with ASTM, DOT, and project specifications.
  • Review laboratory reports, documentation, and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment, testing procedures, and operational issues.
  • Performs construction and geotechnical related laboratory testing

Leadership Acumen & Team Development

  • Lead and support laboratory staff through coaching, communication, and accountability.
  • Prioritize workloads and coordinate schedules to meet client and project deadlines.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Geology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction materials testing laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT testing standards.
  • Experience with laboratory quality systems and accreditation processes preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as ACI, NICET, or DOT certifications preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory reporting software.
