POSITION SUMMARY:

Leader Tech is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller who aspires to become completely responsible for all aspects of the organization's Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Systems (I.T.) functions.This individual must be comfortable working in a small company environment and be willing toconduct all aspects of the job from learning the various Accounting roles to assisting with month-end close-to-supporting operations with product/cost analysis. This person must also be willing to learn Human Resources/Payroll, and Information Systems and to understand the related policies, processes and procedures. The additional expectation is that this person will bring new ideas to help automate processes and integrate AI, where deemed appropriate. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (Controller) of Leader Tech, with an eventual dotted line relationship to the HEICO Electronic Technologies Group's Vice President of Accounting & Finance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate with executive management in the establishment of comprehensive business and financial strategies for the organization's various functional areas of responsibility. Provide data and support to growing companies, which include assisting with potential new product lines and/or acquisitions. Support may include accumulation/evaluation of data, acquisition audits, learning different MRP systems and/or integrating into current MRP system.
  • Assist in providing timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external customers, including the other departments at Leader Tech and to the parent company, HEICO Corporation.
  • Assist in the preparation of the weekly forecast reports as well as the annual budgets, and help identify the trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze product/job cost trends and operational performance. Determine potential issues and areas for improvement. Assist with cost analysis and cost reporting.
  • Support the Sales Team with evaluating customer credit applications and determining appropriate credit limits based on risk and in accordance with HEICO's policy.
  • Assist with the review of incoming customer orders and evaluate based on HEICO's revenue recognition policy.
  • Manage inventory valuation, including tracking/valuing all materials, work in progress, and finished goods. Oversee cycle count programs and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
  • Perform the review of inventory obsolescence and excess inventory in accordance with policies.
  • Prepare/enter/review month-end journal entries and assist with month end reporting requirements.
  • Assist development of accounting reports and functionality of enterprise resource planning software.
  • Learn and maintain appropriate financial and I.T. controls to ensure compliance with HEICO's 404 SOX requirements. Assist with Internal and External Audits, as well as providing documentation for SOX Compliance.
  • Assist with leading, mentoring and developing the Accounting, Human Resources and I.T. teams, ensuring alignment with company and HEICO values.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable documentation and processing (including expense report processing and calculation of sales commissions for rep agencies) to learn the processes and help with automation.
  • Assist with posting deposits and payments to customer accounts, including checks, credit cards, ACH, and wires; work closely with Accounts Receivable to ensure proper allocation of payments and to resolve issues. Offer suggestions for improvement and automation.
  • Assist with review of Payroll and learn Human Resources policies and benefits.
  • Learn local tax and regulatory filing dates and compliance requirements. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and/or annual sales tax filing requirements as needed.
  • Other related ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.
  • Travel as needed - less than 5% (annual conferences, acquisition audits, physical inventories, etc.).
