Summary


    Distribution Control Associates are assigned daily tasks/assignments dependent upon the needs within the functional areas, which include the Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom areas. Daily tasks are assigned by the Distribution Control Manager dependent upon current business needs. Distribution Control Associates are fully competent in all the functional areas of Shipping, Receiving and Stockroom and are able to work with minimal supervision by the Distribution Control Manager when performing daily routine tasks.

    This position is 100% on site in Goleta, CA, 8am-4:30pm.

    One on-site interview per candidate. HM is available to interview this week and next; will have limited availability the week of August 10-14.

    New position to fill stock room needs: shipping, receiving, and distribution of stock in Goleta, both internally and outbound.

    Day-to-day activities will include
    Using hand trucks and pallet jacks
    Being on your feet most of the day, bending - stooping - lifting
    Learning SAP & other shipping software (DHL, FedEx, etc)

    Self-starter, self-motivated, knows when to ask questions.
    Will show up on time, every day, and do the work.

Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Receives incoming shipments. This includes reviewing of the packing list from the carriers, verification of quantities, visual inspection of the packaging and processing the shipment to
    • Receiving Inspection.
    • Must communicate concerns/issues to Purchasing, Receiving Inspection and the Distribution Control Manager as well as external customers.
    • Training should occur on the following work instruction: Material Receiving Instructions, MWI-0006-REC.
    • Receives material from Receiving Inspection and the Production floor.
    • Visually inspects material to ensure material is properly labeled and then stocks in proper location.
    • Must be able to understand and transact all entries into SAP system to achieve desired level of accuracy.
    • Will pick kits, replenish Kanbans, and will perform cycle counts as instructed.
    • Must be able to maintain constructive communication with internal and external customers and assist in problem solving.
    • Training on the following work instructions:
      o Receipt Storage and Handling,
      o Servicing Internal Customers,
      o Replenishing Kanbans, Green Cards,
      o Filling Kits,
      o Responding to Purge Forms,
      o Cycle Counting,
      o General Stockroom Information,
      o Shipping Packaging Instructions,
      o Shipping Instructions,
      o CE Stamping Instructions,
      o Finished Device Distribution,
    • Must demonstrate the ability to assist in shipping of products to external customers. This includes packing of product per shipping instructions and pulling units from finished goods, inventory, and transacting all entries into the SAP system.
    • Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSIs products and services.
Requirements
    • Must have basic computer skills and perform inventory transactions in SAP System.
    • Must have the ability to follow procedures and instructions.
    • Must be able to accurately count inventory parts and process paperwork.
    • Must possess oral and written communication skills sufficient to perform job duties.
    • Must possess valid California drivers license. ???

    • Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards (eg, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001)
    • Position requires regular attendance.
    • Read and follow instructions.
    • Ability to carry and lift up to 40 lbs. of bulk packages.
    • Stand for long periods of time and walk frequently.
