Job description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for an Inventory Control Lead Associate to be responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels for the Maintenance department.

This is a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA location.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • Data enter and correct inventory codes.
  • In conjunction with the Cycle Counting team, generate and follow up requests for stock verification.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments to ensure correctness of large value adjustments and appropriate sign offs are obtained.
  • Attend inventory-related and Operations Accounting team meetings.
  • Review, prepare, and audit metrics for Closing Order Clerks.
  • Assist in identifying procedural adherence and inventory control deficiencies.
  • Work with the scheduling team to identify root causes of inventory-related missed shipments.
  • Prepare waste disposal sheets and distribute to Compliance and Warehouse.
  • Create, generate, and distribute monthly reports and reserves, such as the quarantine reserve, aging staged inventory reserve, and the material issue adjustment report.
  • Evaluate and analyze cycle count discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventories at remote/consignment warehouses to ensure accurate availability information is reflected in ERP system.
  • Work with warehouse staff to ensure product transfers as needed systemically and reconcile inventories at outside locations at least monthly.
  • Participate in and lead special projects related to inventory control as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 3-5 years experience in an inventory control or related role involving parts.
  • Experience and basic understanding of ERP systems preferred.

  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time, problem solve, and work as part of a team are crucial.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$51,500.00 - $83,375.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
