Job Responsibilities:
Scope of Position
• Owns and drives the plant's master production schedule to ensure optimal capacity utilization, on-time delivery, and alignment across production, materials, and customer demand. Leads and coordinates the planning team while proactively identifying risks, resolving constraints, and aligning cross-functional priorities.
Minimum Requirements
• Post-secondary education or equivalent in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience leading or coordinating planners or scheduling activities preferred.
• Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Deep understanding of MRP, capacity planning, inventory control, and material flow.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting/analysis tools.
Job Specific Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and own the master production schedule based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability.
• Lead and provide direction to production planners/schedulers, ensuring alignment to plant priorities and consistent planning practices.
• Balance demand and capacity constraints, proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation plans.
• Act as the primary escalation point for scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and production disruptions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, purchasing, engineering, quality, and program management to align schedules and priorities.
• Review customer releases and forecasts to establish optimized build plans.
• Drive adherence to schedule attainment, inventory targets, and on-time delivery performance.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, WIP, and line-side stock to support uninterrupted production.
• Oversee supplier release processes and support expediting activities as required.
• Lead planning-related continuous improvement initiatives (forecast accuracy, schedule stability, inventory reduction, etc.).
• Support new program launches by developing and managing ramp-up and capacity plans.
• Ensure accuracy of planning parameters in ERP systems (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.).
• Participate in S&OP / production review meetings and provide data-driven insights.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
