Job description

The Senior Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining integrated production and capacity plans that balance customer demand, operational capability, and inventory investment across assigned categories or plants. This role plays a critical leadership position within Supply Chain Planning by translating demand and inventory strategies into executable, capacity-constrained production plans that support service, cost, and working capital objectives.
As a category-level planning leader, the Senior Master Scheduler co-leads the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process alongside Demand Planning, proactively identifies risks to service and inventory performance, and drives alignment across Operations, Customer Service, Transportation, and Planning. The role ensures data integrity, planning discipline, and continuous improvement in planning rates, safety stock inputs, and system processes.
In addition to day-to-day planning responsibilities, the Senior Master Scheduler supports the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), coaches peers on best practices, provides cross-functional backup coverage, and leads or participates in special projects that enhance planning capability and network performance.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $73k to $109k Annually with additional bonus potential
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Generate weekly/monthly production and capacity plans using systems and processes that support the organization's goals.
  • Maintain data integrity in systems to facilitate efficient inventory and capacity management, customer service, and operational metrics.
  • Co-lead with Demand Planning on monthly category level Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Utilize systems to proactively identify and communicate key drivers and proposed solutions to service and inventory issues.
  • Maintain, review and update all monthly inputs used to calculate safety stocks and inventory targets.
  • Supply Chain Category lead for Daily R&R (Review & Response) Process, in conjunction with Customer Service and Transportation (others as needed).
  • Provide backup and support for other Supply Chain functions, as assigned. Maintain competency in all supply chain processes and systems.
  • Track and reconcile weekly/monthly metrics versus established targets. Review production performance and update planning rates to accurately reflect plant capabilities and available capacity.
  • Lead or participate on special projects as required.
  • Coach peers in network and other networks on business process and system best practices.
  • Support AOP process for designated categories/plants

Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in production planning, detailed scheduling, replenishment planning, demand planning or materials management required.
  • Experience with supply planning software; working knowledge of SAP desired, experience with Logility Supply Planning a Plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands on time required
  • APICS or CPIM certification a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills required
