Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Master Data Specialist with deep expertise in Material Master, product setup processes, and end-to-end master data governance. This role will work closely with cross-functional business teams, product development, supply chain, and IT to ensure accurate product creation and seamless integration across a multi-system landscape including PLM, PIM, and SAP ERP (S/4HANA). The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven experience defining, governing, and optimizing master data processes for new product introductions and ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Master & Product Setup • Own and manage the end-to-end Material Master creation and maintenance process in SAP. • Establish and maintain product setup templates, data standards, and attribute structures. • Define and validate key fields across views such as Basic Data, Sales, Purchasing, MRP, Finance/Accounting, Warehouse/EWM, and Quality. • Ensure material master alignment with business rules, regulatory standards, and product lifecycle requirements.
2. Requirements Gathering & Business Collaboration • Collaborate with product development, supply chain, merchandising, finance, and operations teams to gather requirements for new product setup. • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to understand business needs and data dependencies. • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and master data templates.
3. Gap Analysis in Multi-System Landscape • Analyze product setup processes across PLM, PIM, and ERP systems to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or integration challenges. • Define future-state data flows, mappings, and transformations needed for optimized product introduction. • Partner with technical teams (Integration, Middleware, SAP Basis) to resolve data quality and data flow issues.
4. Reporting & Analytics Support • Evaluate current business reporting, KPIs, and data dependencies across product lifecycle and supply chain. • Identify corresponding future-state reporting needs based on improved data standards and system capabilities. • Support BI/Analytics teams in defining data models and ensuring correct master data availability for reporting.
5. Data Governance & Quality • Enforce best practices for Master Data Management (MDM) and Material Master governance. • Conduct data quality assessments and lead remediation activities. • Support creation of SOPs, data governance policies, and change management documentation.
Required Skills: Required Qualifications • 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Material Master and product setup processes. • Strong understanding of cross-functional SAP integration points (SD, MM, PP, FICO, QM, EWM). • Experience working with PLM, PIM, and ERP environments for new product introduction. • Proven ability to conduct requirements gathering, business analysis, and gap identification. • Familiarity with product lifecycle processes, supply chain operations, and master data governance principles. • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Master Data models.
• Understanding of SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) is a plus. • Experience in consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, or distribution industries. • Exposure to reporting tools (SAC, Power BI, Tableau) and understanding of master-data-driven analytics.
