Definition
Associate has responsibility for the facilitation and coordination activities around worldwide business (enterprise level/sales level/plant level) master data. Provides support in the area of identifying and gathering master data in SAP. Works to ensure the proper controls/approvals through the engineering change (ECO) and Quality systems are followed. Manages the use of the MDH workflow tool or other internal method for the collection of master data from appropriate knowledge sources (e.g. purchasing, QM, planning, other sites, etc) within the business/site.
Responsibilities
• Facilitates/coordinates the identification and collection of enterprise/sales/plant level master data for the SAP environment.
• Receives all requests for new material and modified master data from within the business/plant.
• Works with project teams and associates to ensure proper identification of all impacted data elements based on new item or proposed change(s).
• Responsible to list, integrate with, and maintain the list of business events linked to the data process. (i.e. ECO, MDO, etc.)
• Supports the process by training others to ensure complete and timely communication between contacts.
• Establishes and maintains the workflow application for the capture of master data. This includes the list of associates trained and authorized to provide data within the business/plant environment.
• Responsible to coordinate communication between the process areas and affected sites (i.e. plants, distribution centers, etc).
• Responsible for the data quality and data accuracy of the master data for their area.
Knowledge & Experience
• Experience in SAP design/implementation with a good understanding of item master data for their area.
• Require training on MDO process and requirements. This includes basic knowledge of data fields and their relationships with a good understanding of the importance of ALL data elements.
• Good relationships with personnel within the business/plant.
• Good communication skills with the ability to handle conflict
• Strong organizational skills with proficiency in various applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Able to analyze and follow up on problems and/or questions related to master data issues.
• Understand, apply and maintain current processes and guidelines pertaining to the MDO process within the business/plant.
• Attend and actively participate in regular MDC meetings
• Accountable to the Centralized MDO and the supporting business unit for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the master data supplied for SAP.
