Job description

ASC Engineered Solutions is looking for a Senior Master Data Analyst based out of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters. The Senior Master Data Analyst will have an essential role within the supply chain department, responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of master data across systems to support efficient operations, accurate planning, and data-driven decision-making. Reporting directly to our Senior Director of Inventory Management, this position focuses on item creation, item maintenance, SKU maintenance, system maintenance, and other industry-standard responsibilities for master data management roles, including broader domains such as supplier, BOM, and related production data. The ideal candidate is a meticulous, technically proficient professional with a strong understanding of data management principles, experience in ERP environments, and the ability to collaborate across functions to resolve data discrepancies and drive continuous improvements in data quality.
  • Lead creation and ongoing maintenance of new and existing items in ERP and planning systems (e.g., BlueYonder, SAP), including accurate assignment and updates of key attributes such as descriptions, classifications, units of measure, costs, lead times, and supplier details.
  • Manage SKU setup, deactivation, optimization, and lifecycle alignment to support inventory management and forecasting accuracy.
  • Oversee master data system maintenance, including data cleansing, deduplication, configuration updates, and regular audits to ensure high accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Manage additional master data domains including supplier/vendor data (contacts, payment terms, certifications, locations, hierarchies, qualifications), customer data, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation/maintenance, production routings/work centers, and location/warehouse data to enable accurate procurement, production planning, costing, and logistics.
  •  Lead vendor/supplier data validation and onboarding, verifying accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payment/quality terms, certifications, and contracts; resolve discrepancies with procurement and finance teams.
  • Serve as subject matter expert to enforce master data governance policies, business rules, and validation checks.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data issues, implement corrective actions, and support data migrations during system upgrades, mergers, or acquisitions.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and metrics on master data quality (e.g., accuracy rates, completeness, error trends) using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to provide actionable insights.
  • Support new product development (NPD) and introduction (NPI) by establishing timely master data setups for new items, SKUs, and related attributes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in master data processes, including workflow automation and integration of new data sources to reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, templates, and tools to streamline master data creation, maintenance, and governance activities across the supply chain.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in master data management, data analysis, or a related role within supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, or data governance credentials) preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, BlueYonder) with hands-on experience in master data modules, item/SKU setup, and data maintenance processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, validation, and reporting; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools for visualization, and data integration platforms preferred.
  • Solid understanding of master data concepts, including data governance, quality assurance, hierarchy management, and industry standards for item and SKU classification.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail to identify data anomalies and implement solutions in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, document processes, and train users on master data best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently, with a proactive approach to driving data accuracy and process enhancements.
  • Experience with data auditing, migration projects, and compliance requirements in regulated industries is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD annually*.
