The Opportunity

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Master Data Analyst to join our International Finance team. This position is critical and is the primary liaison between the businesses as it relates to the creation, updating and deleting of master data throughout the enterprise. This role interacts directly with customers, supporting and resolving challenges related to the mastering of critical business data. This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, IL.

What You'll Do

The role is responsible for applying relevant principles to support projects and ongoing activities, which include but are not limited to completing tasks which support business teams and assisting in the development of business requirements in order to solve for master data related business problems. The role is expected to lead department level initiatives and provides assistance to departmental managers on larger project phases. There is also the need to assist in supporting business continuity, relationship management and business strategy. The individual will be responsible for compliance within applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. The role requires a high degree of communicative ability due to multi-divisional and multi-functional issues. Being able to provide data analysis to verify/validate data and drill down to identify root causes is key. The individual must be able to understand the implications of master data as it relates to SAP and other business systems based on requirements. Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of key goals and operational processes with stakeholders to aid in process development and data analysis. Be able to apply and execute standard strategic business theories, concepts and techniques and assist in the development of master data standards and procedures. Must be able to manage projects according to milestones and deliver within budget constraints. Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels throughout the organization and with external partners. Assists in monitoring technical and business support staff as it relates to projects. Ensure compliance with applicable Departmental, Corporate, and Divisional Policies and Procedures. Must adhere to divisional business rules and processes set forth in Master Data SOP's and SLA's. Participate in business-critical Master Data initiatives. This includes advising on master data creation/changes when requested by divisional areas. Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams; may be required to participate in division specific projects, testing, enhancements, or data verification. Failure to achieve results may result in business process delays and/or a duplicate effort caused by these errors. Errors could cause financial / business impacts to Abbott, so attention to detail is a MUST. Effectively utilize Abbott systems to maintain the integrity of master data. This includes all aspects of the Create/Read/Update/Delete process. Systems include AES, ECC, MDG, and various ancillary systems. Independently develop general approaches to the solution of problems which require application of basic project management principles and problem-solving skills. As this is an Individual contributor role reporting into the Master Data Manager, the incumbent must be able to operate independently within an expanded scope of responsibility under general supervision. This role interacts with both external and internal customers.

Required Qualifications

B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology or Finance preferred. 0-2 years’ experience with degree or minimum 4-6 years’ experience with Master Data Management exposure preferred. SAP experience along advanced SQL, MS Access and Excel skills are strongly preferred. Business Analyst along with Data Analytics experience is a plus.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00 In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
