Job description

Position Summary

Data Analysis SMEs serve as senior experts responsible for designing, developing, and delivering enterprise analytics solutions including KPI dashboards, real-time visualizations, and advanced analytical products. These individuals work directly with Government stakeholders to define metrics, implement data visualization best practices, and enable data-driven decision-making across the Bureau.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop interactive, real-time dashboards using Microsoft Power BI for executive and operational stakeholders
  • Define and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with Government's strategic objectives
  • Perform deep-dive analyses and trend analysis on historical data to uncover actionable patterns
  • Implement data cleaning, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy
  • Develop and maintain Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes using SQL, Python, or Azure Data Factory
  • Transition existing reports and dashboards from legacy tools (Tableau, Excel) to Power BI
  • Enable self-service analytics capabilities by developing data models and templates for power users
  • Integrate predictive analytics models into visualization tools
  • Provide technical guidance on data visualization best practices
  • Support ad-hoc data analysis requests from Government leadership
  • Document all KPI formulas, data sources, and dashboard configurations
  • Conduct training sessions for Government personnel on analytics tools and capabilities
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and KPI dashboarding
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA Security+ (required)
    • Microsoft Power BI certification preferred
    • Relevant data analytics certifications (e.g., Microsoft Data Analyst Associate)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (dashboard development, DAX, Power Query)
    • Advanced SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
    • Experience with Tableau and Excel-based reporting
    • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis
    • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools
    • Understanding of statistical analysis and trend forecasting
Preferred Qualifications
