Job Title: Marketing Writer I (Junior Marketing Writer)

Position Summary

The Marketing Writer I (Junior Marketing Writer) is an entry-level position responsible for creating marketing content, including digital and print communications, performing email/social media/web content tasks, and proofreading client projects, internal marketing materials, and more. The Marketing Writer I supports various clients both internal and external with content creation and editing.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.   • Creates and/or edits engaging content for client and internal Graphcom marketing materials, including websites, advertisements, articles, blog posts, emails, appeal letters, and more
  • Observes, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources
  • Works closely with Editorial Director or other senior staff to organize, plan, and prioritize work by developing specific goals and plans
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to all internal and external customers
  • Works closely with Editorial Director or senior staff to appropriately manage resources within budget and project schedule
  • Follows established editorial guidelines, including applying proper language, mood, manner, and tone for the audience and client
  • Makes edits as requested by the client
  • Provides write-ups to team members so they can sell content to the client
  • Maintains brand standards and upholds creative excellence
  • Stays current on all emerging content and digital marketing trends (including email, web, and social media) and participates in marketing strategy, messaging, measurement, and development
  • Continuously brainstorms and suggests new ideas and marketing activities for Graphcom and clients
  • Comfortable presenting work to internal Graphcom team and external clients; attends and participates in client meetings as needed
  • Personally accountable for the accuracy of all research, stats, data, hyperlinks, etc. within content
  • Annual review of job description
  • Maintains the highest level of security and confidentiality as defined by company policy
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP, Creative, Creative Director, or President/CEO Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements
  • 4-year college degree in a related field, such as Communications, Marketing, or Journalism, and/or Associate’s Degree in Marketing or English is preferred.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in a related field, preferably advertising, marketing, journalism, writing, new media, public relations, and/or communications
  • Strong writing ability and proficiency in software applications such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Strong sense of marketing concept development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter willing to learn, develop, and polish the skills needed to succeed in a creative agency environment (problem-solving, presentation, project management, etc.)
  • Complete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
