Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing Coordinator develops and manages digital marketing content to promote the City of Douglasville and its tourism-related facilities, including the Conference Center, Amphitheater, and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). The position produces multimedia content, maintains digital platforms, and analyzes engagement metrics to support tourism promotion and community outreach efforts. Work is performed with a moderate degree of independence under the general direction of the Tourism Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Manages social media platforms for the CVB, Amphitheater, and Conference Center, maintaining consistent messaging and audience-focused content.
  • Plans, creates, and schedules digital content across social media and other platforms to promote Douglasville’s tourism assets, programs, and events.
  • Develops blog posts, newsletters, and other digital communications for tourism-related audiences.
  • Produces print and digital marketing materials, including brochures, visitor guides, and promotional publications, ensuring consistency with City branding standards.
  • Captures and edits photography and video content to support marketing campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives.
  • Maintains and updates department websites, blogs, and digital communication platforms to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Monitors and analyzes audience engagement and digital performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and support future content planning.
  • Coordinates logistics related to content production, including scheduling, filming locations, and equipment needs.
  • Provides marketing and promotional support for tourism campaigns, community outreach efforts, and special events.
  • Provides operational support during events, City functions, or Welcome Center activities as needed, including evenings or weekends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field; three (3) years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, or social media management, with demonstrated knowledge of analytics and audience engagement strategies; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess and maintain a Valid Georgia Driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of digital marketing principles, social media platforms, and content strategy development.
  • Knowledge of basic analytics tools and methods used to evaluate digital engagement and performance.
  • Skills to create, edit, and publish digital content, including graphics, video, and written materials.
