Job description

Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Position Summary

The Manager, Market Research leads the planning and execution of primary and secondary research to generate customer insights that shape commercial strategy across Acadia's therapeutic portfolio. This role partners closely with the Director of Market Research, crossfunctional stakeholders, and external vendors to support inmarket brands, pipeline development, product launches, lifecycle management, and business development initiatives. The role serves as a strategic thought partner, translating complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead endtoend qualitative and quantitative market research initiatives supporting inline brands and pipeline assets
  • Manage all phases of research execution including RFP development, vendor selection, contracting, study design, stimulus development, and project oversight
  • Oversee research budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure highquality and ontime execution
  • Analyze research data and develop insights, reports, and executivelevel presentations for crossfunctional partners
  • Present research findings and strategic implications to brand teams and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with media agencies to evaluate DTC and communication performance and translate analytics into optimization insights
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Drug Safety to ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards
  • Develop and maintain a centralized insights repository and market research knowledge library to support institutional learning and leadership decisionmaking
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of market research experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or biotech organizations
  • Demonstrated experience managing qualitative and quantitative primary research methodologies
  • Experience supporting commercial brand teams, pipeline assets, or product launches
  • Experience managing external research vendors and crossfunctional stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.
