An Internship in Qualitative Market Research is a temporary position, usually for students or recent graduates, that provides hands-on experience in gathering and analyzing non-numerical data about consumer opinions, motivations, and behaviors. Interns typically assist with tasks such as conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, analyzing open-ended survey responses, and preparing reports. This role helps interns develop skills in research methodologies, data interpretation, and client communication, all of which are valuable for a future career in market research.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect during an internship in qualitative market research?

As an intern in qualitative market research, you can expect to support projects such as focus groups, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic studies. Your responsibilities may include assisting with research design, participant recruitment, note-taking during sessions, data transcription, and initial analysis of qualitative data. You'll also likely help prepare reports and presentations for clients. Collaboration with experienced researchers and exposure to client meetings are common, offering valuable insight into the full research process and professional development opportunities.
