Manufacturing Laborer

Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Kodiak is seeking dependable and hardworking Manufacturing Laborers to support operations in our Richmond, VA manufacturing facility. This position works within a fabrication environment producing mechanical, welding, and assembly components used in commercial and industrial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, fabrication, or industrial setting and be comfortable working around welding, mechanical assembly, and material handling operations. Forklift experience is highly desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assist with the production and assembly of mechanical and welded components.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Support welders, fabricators, assemblers, and production personnel as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Perform grinding, deburring, cleaning, and finishing of fabricated parts.
  • Package and prepare completed products for shipment.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for visible defects or damage.
  • Maintain accurate material counts and assist with inventory activities.
  • Read work orders and follow production instructions.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform general labor duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Required


  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, construction, or production environments.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation and attendance.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Preferred

  • Forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
  • Experience working in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience using grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools.
  • Ability to read basic shop drawings or work orders.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
