Manufacturing Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage 15+ manufacturing engineers with assistance from a subordinate manager who oversees 3+ N/C programmers.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations .
  • Manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage staff levels, wages, hours, and utilization.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Works with production to create efficiencies in the production process, such as fixturing, machining time improvements, tooling, etc.
  • Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement through design, development testing, and implementation of new production methods, measurement systems, and workforce applications .
  • Drives team to work with production/safety to complete safety initiatives needing engineering help and to resolve safety action/correction items that come up.
  • Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements.
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing process for product quality and process control measured against KPIs.
  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further drive the company's overall goals.
  • Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects.
  • Drive change and improvement through lean principles.
  • Assist in new capital procurements .
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned from site leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology degree. technical area or degree with equivalent experience in technical area.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, across departments, and when interviewing others for job openings.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers throughout the company.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Proficient with word-processing, spreadsheet applications, human resource systems, and manufacturing software (MS Word, Excel and SAP preferred.).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Pay: $ 114,000 - $ 165,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,000 and $165,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
