Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Intern
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our Farris team!
This Manufacturing Engineering (ME) intern program will partner with experienced Manufacturing Engineering (ME) professionals to ensure learning, mentorship, contributions to the business and exposure to multiple departments within Curtiss Wright's Farris Engineering division occur. This internship will have a focus on completion of time studies, in additional to CAD drawing updates. Our goal is to provide a flexible learning environment to help kick-start a future ME's career and provide resources to meet our workforce requirements.
Location: Brecksville, OH
Salary: $20.00 per hour

Your Challenge:
  • Develop and update CAD drawings for fixtures and plant layout
  • Conduct detailed time studies for various manufacturing processes
  • Contribute to various Continuous Improvement (CI) events
  • Basic CNC Programming (dependent upon skillset)
  • Support ME's with various ongoing projects relating to routine analyses, design and/or assembly
  • Support estimates of manufacturing costs and making recommendations for tooling & process requirements
  • Maintain records & reporting systems for coordination of Manufacturing operations.

What You Bring:
  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS Degree program in Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial (Manufacturing), Electrical, Engineering Technology and/or Chemical.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with/adapt to customers, suppliers and employees/managers at all levels within the company
  • Ability to maintain safe work environment
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages
  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • This position may require the ability to lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to multi-task, handling quick turnaround, a plus
  • CAD / 3D Modeling experience, a plus
  • Time Study Experience, a plus
