Manufacturing & Development Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time, Regular
Position Summary
The Manufacturing & Development Engineer works closely with engineering, operations, customers, and cross functional teams to design, develop, and continuously improve products in a high volume manufacturing environment.
This role is involved across the full product lifecycle, from early concept and prototyping through program launch and ongoing production support, with a strong focus on productivity, quality, and process efficiency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering
โ€ข Support existing production and business needs through engineering assistance, including part drawings, 3D modeling, tooling design, and process development.
โ€ข Partner with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to assess manufacturing capabilities, tooling requirements, and process feasibility.
โ€ข Develop and implement strategies that improve productivity, efficiency, and consistency, with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
โ€ข Lead and support cross functional employee teams to strengthen collaboration between Engineering and Operations.
โ€ข Manage the Engineering Change process to ensure timely, accurate implementation while meeting customer and production requirements.
Product & Process Development
โ€ข Plan and support prototype builds, development trials, and launches.
โ€ข Lead and coordinate product and process development trials, including data analysis and outcome reporting.
โ€ข Support program launches to ensure production readiness, achievement of productivity targets, customer timelines, and financial objectives.
โ€ข Participate in and support customer demonstrations of new products and processes as needed.
โ€ข Assist in developing engineering standards, key performance metrics, and reporting for leadership.
โ€ข Contribute to brainstorming and concept development for new products and product improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering required.
โ€ข Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or product development engineering.
โ€ข Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
โ€ข Proficiency with CAD software required (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).
โ€ข Experience with cold forging processes and cold forging simulation software preferred.
โ€ข Internship or co op experience in product development or a related engineering field strongly preferred.
โ€ข Ability to meet standard pre employment requirements and comply with company policies.
