Location: Champaign, Illinois (Onsite Preferred | Remote Considered)
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $20.00 – $24.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Standard Business Hours

About the Role

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support a fast-paced industrial and logistics-focused operation in Champaign, Illinois.

This role serves as a key connection point between customers, operations, sales, finance, logistics, and internal support teams to ensure exceptional customer service, timely communication, order accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience handling customer accounts and order coordination, and the ability to work within CRM, order management, logistics, and inventory systems while supporting customers in a professional and solution-oriented manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers by phone, email, and system communication

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and timely communication

  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide solutions in a prompt and professional manner

  • Review and process customer orders accurately within order management systems

  • Coordinate outbound deliveries and inbound returns utilizing logistics and shipping platforms

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of customer interactions within CRM and internal systems

  • Support coordination between operations, sales, finance, logistics, and customer accounts

  • Assist with shipping documentation, paperwork, and order tracking

  • Reconcile customer account information, order details, and related documentation

  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams regarding payments, balances, and customer account support

  • Navigate multiple systems including CRM platforms, Excel, Microsoft Office, email, and order management software

  • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions while managing multiple priorities effectively

  • Provide a high level of customer service within a fast-paced operational environment

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1–3 years of customer service, logistics support, account coordination, or order management experience preferred

  • Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, supply chain, or distribution environments strongly preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional and solution-oriented mindset

  • Strong customer relationship and problem-solving skills

Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required

  • Experience with CRM systems preferred

  • Experience with order management systems, logistics software, or ERP platforms preferred

  • Comfortable handling multiple computer systems, email platforms, browsers, and operational tools simultaneously

  • Strong data entry and documentation accuracy

Work Environment
  • Office-based environment

  • Primarily sedentary office work

  • Frequent computer usage and customer communication throughout the day

  • Occasional light lifting up to 15 pounds

Additional Information
  • Onsite candidates in the Champaign, IL area are strongly preferred
