Area Controller Location: Franklin Park, IL or Charlotte, NC (South End) Employment Type: Full-Time Overview We are seeking an experienced Area Controller to lead financial operations across three manufacturing facilities

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, internal controls, and financial analysis. The Area Controller will partner closely with plant leadership and senior management to improve financial performance, support operational decision-making, and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies. This position offers the opportunity to lead accounting teams across multiple locations while driving process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Oversee accounting and financial operations for multiple manufacturing facilities. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare, review, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Develop monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses. Provide financial reporting and business analysis to plant and executive leadership. Analyze manufacturing costs and business trends to improve operational performance.

Review and maintain standard costing processes. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate internal and external audits.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff across multiple locations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience, including plant accounting and financial close responsibilities. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Experience supporting manufacturing operations and understanding key cost drivers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), IQMS, OneStream, and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred Experience Multi-site manufacturing finance experience. Experience leading accounting teams across multiple locations.
