Summary
The Plant Controller oversees all plant-level financial operations, including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role partners closely with Plant Management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and enhance overall profitability.
The Plant Controller ensures the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial results and safeguards plant assets for a multi-line manufacturing and warehousing facility with significant operational complexity. This role is a key member of the Plant Management team and provides timely, comprehensive financial leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Lead forecasting and budget planning
  • Conduct capital expenditure analysis and reporting
  • Perform accurate cost analysis and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize financial performance
  • Partner with Plant Management to set annual standards and production yields
  • Provide financial guidance and proactive communication on accounting issues
  • Support capital expenditure requests and perform post-project audits
  • Maintain effective inventory and operating expense management
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure consistent financial practices
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecasts
  • Identify risks and opportunities
  • Lead development of the annual operating plan
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance financial performance
  • Analyze financial data to support decision-making

Education & Experience
  • B.S./B.A. in Accounting
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong manufacturing cost accounting and plant controlling experience
  • Prior Senior Cost Accounting/Plant Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • ERP system experience required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse/manufacturing cost accounting and controls
  • Prior in-plant manufacturing industry experience required.
