Job description

Well-established manufacturer rep agency in business over 60-years seeking a person for an outside sales position serving Plumbing and Wastewater processing needs for the Kansas City, MO area, Western, MO, Kansas, and Nebraska. Based in our company's North Kansas City Office, this person will work to develop new, retrieve prior and maintain existing accounts. Sales activities consist of determining the best use of time to make sales calls to demonstrate product features and benefits to End Users, Distributors, Engineers, Contractors and OEMs and Health Department Regulators.
About the Position:

We specialize in decentralized wastewater treatment and pumping equipment. We are seeking the right individual for a challenging sales position in small community, extended suburban and rural development. Projects include rural estates, subdivisions, commercial developments, agricultural and food processing facilities, strip centers, schools, institutions, and resorts as well as small communities. The candidate will eventually be responsible for providing product information, design, and application assistance for the company's products. This involves visiting existing customers and finding and selling products to new applications at existing accounts and with new users.
Products and Services include: Onsite wastewater treatment systems for a single residence or an entire subdivision. Treatment and disposal technologies range from conventional septic systems to peat filtration, drip irrigation, UV disinfection, shallow trench and alternative treatment used in areas with adverse soils.

Some travel is required; up to 3 nights per week approximately twice each month. Through its expense reporting procedure, the company reimburses reasonable expenses for travel, hotel, meals, entertainment, and fuel. Auto allowance given to partially cover business use of personal vehicle. Paid time off for holidays, vacation, personal (i.e. sick leave) and more.

Company will provide product and market training. Products and services may be expanded as required. To maintain his or her value the candidate selected should be prepared to participate in ongoing self-directed product and market training and development throughout his career. This continuing self-improvement applies to both current new and competitor products/markets. All employees are encouraged to share knowledge and strategies with each other.
Job Skills/Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position would be well served to have following:
