Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Hyde Park Day School (HPDS) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily school operations at our Chicago campus.

This is more than a traditional administrative role-you will be a central point of coordination, communication, and support for staff, students, and families. About Hyde Park Day School

Hyde Park Day School is a leading independent school serving students with learning disabilities across the Chicago area. We are committed to helping students achieve academic success, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive.


What You'll Do
  • Serve as a first point of contact-answering, screening, and directing calls and visitors
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations
  • Manage office systems including filing, recordkeeping, and document preparation
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, and communications across teams
  • Maintain and track office supply inventory, placing and managing orders
  • Support workflow improvements and office procedures to enhance efficiency
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, memos, and internal communications
  • Troubleshoot administrative issues and respond to routine inquiries
  • Support meeting logistics, including agendas and minutes
  • Help maintain equipment, office organization, and overall operational readiness

What We're Looking For
  • Associate's degree with relevant computer/software training required; Bachelor's preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative or office management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Google Workspace
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve independently
  • Team-oriented mindset with a high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Sensitivity and professionalism when working in a school environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards preferred

Compensation & Benefits

This position is paid $22-$25/hour based on experience. HPDS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
