Position Overview

The Business Data Partner Manager is a pivotal leader responsible for ensuring the organization can reliably capture high-quality commercial data needed to run and grow the business - covering (but not limited to) pricing, contracts, commercial activities, and marketing execution.

This role leads a team of three and serves as the primary business partner for intake, requirements definition, prioritization, and functional oversight & co-design of solutions delivered by IT, with a focus on Salesforce.com.

The Business Data Partner Manager works cross-functionally with Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Price & Contract, and IT to translate business needs into clear functional requirements and an actionable roadmaps.

The role provides end-to-end functional leadership across the solution lifecycle-requirements, design alignment, testing/UAT, release readiness, change management, and adoption-to ensure data intake solutions are scalable, compliant, and fit-for-purpose.

Essential Job Functions

Business Partnership & Demand Intake

Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT for data intake needs across pricing, contracts, activities, marketing, and related commercial processes.

Establish and run an intake process to capture demand, clarify business outcomes, and ensure alignment to strategy and compliance requirements.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and driver of decisions and trade-offs.

Requirements & Functional Leadership

Lead the end-to-end requirements process: discovery, current-state mapping, future-state definition, user stories/use cases, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.

Ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned to reporting/analytics needs

Partner with stakeholders to define and document standard processes, controls, and data definitions that enable consistent capture across markets/teams.

Roadmap, Prioritization & Governance

Own and maintain a prioritized roadmap for data intake capabilities and enhancements, balancing value, feasibility, risk, and dependencies.

Support governance forums to drive prioritization, scope approval, and release readiness.

Ensure solutions adhere to internal controls, data privacy, and security expectations (e.g., GDPR considerations where relevant).

Delivery Oversight (IT Partnership)

Partner closely with IT product/engineering teams to guide functional design, clarify requirements, and ensure business intent is preserved through delivery.

Coordinate functional reviews of designs and prototypes; ensure alignment between business processes, user experience, and data intake requirements.

Drive UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios, defect triage, and sign-off processes; support go-live readiness and hypercare.

Data Quality, Adoption & Continuous Improvement

Define and monitor key measures for data completeness, timeliness, and accuracy; lead root-cause analysis and improvement actions.

Develop and maintain end-user documentation and enablement materials; ensure training and communications are effective for sustained adoption.

Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve automation and usability.

People Leadership

Coach and develop a high-performing team of business analysts

Set clear goals and performance expectations; establish operating rhythms for intake, backlog hygiene, and cross-functional collaboration.

Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and customer-centric delivery.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or a related field required. Master's degree a plus.

Experience

7+ years of relevant experience in commercial operations enablement, business analysis, product ownership, or enterprise systems supporting commercial data.

2+ years of people management experience (or equivalent leadership experience), with demonstrated ability to lead and develop others.

Demonstrated success translating business needs into functional requirements and partnering with IT to deliver solutions.

Skills & Competencies

Strong requirements management capability (discovery, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications).

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional stakeholders through ambiguity to decisions.

Strong understanding of data quality concepts and how upstream intake impacts downstream reporting or analytics.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence at multiple levels.

Comfortable working in Agile or iterative delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications

MedTech / Lifesciences industry experience is preferred

Experience with commercial systems and data domains such as Salesforce.com (or similar CRM), CPQ/pricing tools, contract lifecycle processes, marketing activity tracking, and data platforms/BI.

Familiarity with governance, privacy, and security considerations for commercial data (e.g., GDPR principles in practice).

Experience defining KPIs and operating cadences for data quality and adoption.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$118,000.00 - $203,550.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
