American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with a minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience and required Epic proficiency for a hospital-based position with call requirements.

Details
  • Work in a hospital Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Vascular Angiogram setting, including IR simple procedures
  • Patient population includes AMI, STEMI, NSTEMI, EP devices, heart arrhythmias, PAD, and PVD diagnoses
  • Level 2 Cath Lab performing diagnostic and PCI procedures
  • EP Lab responsibilities include device changeouts, upgrades, ICD, and pacer procedures
  • Utilizes specialized equipment including Impella, IABP, temporary pacer, Shockwave, DFR, IVUS, and FFR
  • Schedule options of 4x9-hour shifts (36 hrs/wk) or 5x8-hour shifts (40 hrs/wk), Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00am or 7:45am
  • Call requirement of one night per week and every 4th weekend
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CCI RCIS certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Pre/Post Op experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community Hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Skills required include ACT monitoring, cardioversion, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, sheath removal/monitoring, vascular studies, antiarrhythmic and antihypertensive medication administration, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, IV therapy, and blood product administration
  • Additional preferred skills include End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, vascular closure systems, angioplasty, central line assistance, AICD insertion/programming, pacemaker insertion, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, and Swan-Ganz monitoring
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, EP procedures, and vascular studies
  • Participate in scrub and circulate roles for various cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
  • Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees of the health system are not eligible for traveler positions at any of its hospital locations
  • Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract in advance, limited to 7 days or less
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Fingerprinting must be completed promptly after contract signing due to strict Ohio credentialing timelines
