Overview

BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri regions. BJC is the largest provider of charity care, unreimbursed care and community benefits in the state of Missouri. BJC and its hospitals and health service organizations provide $785.9 million annually in community benefit. That includes $410.6 million in charity care and other financial assistance to patients to ensure medical care regardless of their ability to pay. BJC Strategic Planning is charged with leading a wide array of business development and planning functions by supporting BJC’s individual hospitals, service organizations, as well as BJC’s system-wide efforts. Areas of emphasis include strategic planning consultation, business and capital planning, market intelligence and competitor analysis, and market research. These functions support BJC’s leaders in making informed decisions to drive organizational success.

The Strategic Planning Manager is responsible for leading a wide array of major strategic projects and facilitating the development of planning initiatives for hospitals and service organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for plan development of capital construction projects to achieve desired project goals and business outcomes in support of the organization's mission and values.
  • Act as an internal consultant to guide hospitals and service organizations in strategy and informed decision making.
  • Manage client (e.g., CEOs/Presidents, entity directors, BJC business leaders) relationships and provide leadership with directional guidance using various analytic tools.
  • Independently plan and organize work to ensure timely delivery of presentations and other strategic planning outputs.
  • Minimum Requirements
