Job description

Events Coordinator
Based in New York City, NY OR Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)

About JGO
The Jewish Grad Organization (JGO) is a non-profit organization that supports Jewish graduate
students on 160+ graduate campuses across North America, as well as our alumni, in their
professional and personal growth by creating an environment where they can connect, grow,
and give back to the Jewish community. Our mission is to empower Jewish graduate students
as they navigate their careers and personal lives, fostering a sense of belonging and enriching
their Jewish identity along the way.

Job Description
Join JGO as an Events Coordinator, where you'll help support Jewish graduate student life
across North America. In this highly organized and fast-paced role, you'll partner closely with
student leaders and JGO staff to coordinate campus events, support community-building
initiatives, and ensure programs run smoothly from start to finish.
This role is ideal for someone who gets genuine satisfaction from checking things off a list, loves
creating systems that help people succeed, and thrives on bringing order to complexity. You'll
coordinate many details across countless programs while helping Jewish graduate students
create meaningful experiences and vibrant communities.

Responsibilities Include

  • Support student leaders in planning and executing campus events by coordinating
logistics, managing timelines, ordering food and supplies, and providing hands-on
    guidance throughout the planning process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event logistics, communicating with students,
vendors, and staff to ensure every detail is handled professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of JGO regional and national programs, including
venue sourcing, vendor coordination, registration management, and participant
    communications.
  • Coordinate event follow-up by tracking attendance, collecting photos and content,
gathering feedback, and maintaining accurate program records.
  • Develop and maintain systems, workflows, and organizational processes that help JGO
scale its impact and deliver exceptional experiences across hundreds of programs each
    year.
  • Partner with engagement staff across North America to identify creative opportunities for
Jewish engagement and strengthen campus communities.
  • Track event budgets, invoices, supplies, and program materials to ensure smooth
operations and responsible stewardship of resources.
  • This role includes regular Sunday commitments during certain program seasons, as well
as occasional evening events throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of professional experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong follow-through and personal accountability; when you say you'll do something, it
    gets done.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Experience with event planning, operations, project coordination, or community
    engagement is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal life and a passion for building Jewish community is
    preferred.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and project management tools.

You are often the most organized person in the room. Friends and colleagues rely on you to
keep projects moving, follow up on details, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You
enjoy creating structure, solving problems, and helping others succeed.

What We Offer

  • Full-time remote position based in New York City or Los Angeles.
  • A competitive salary of $60,000-$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth within a collaborative and
    supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to play a meaningful role in strengthening Jewish graduate student life
    across North America.
  • A mission-driven culture that values creativity, teamwork, excellence, and building
    Jewish community.
