As an Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for the engineering function, overseeing a team of engineering professionals responsible for supporting repair, overhaul, manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence by leading complex engineering projects, improving processes and technologies, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to influence business performance through the successful execution of engineering initiatives that support customer commitments, operational efficiency, and the continued growth of StandardAero. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop engineering talent, and help shape the future of aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, direct, and oversee the activities, priorities, and performance of the engineering department. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering policies, standards, procedures, and best practices that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.  
  • Manage engineering resources and projects to ensure technical excellence, quality, budget adherence, and on-time delivery. 
  • Assign, coordinate, and review engineering work related to repair, overhaul, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to define requirements, communicate technical solutions, and achieve project objectives. 
  • Monitor project and operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating engineering processes, technologies, and methodologies to improve business performance. 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development opportunities for engineering team members. 
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence while supporting all health, safety, and environmental requirements. 
  • Partner with leadership teams to develop and execute strategic plans, budgets, goals, and organizational initiatives that support StandardAero's growth and long-term success.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, MRO, or related industrial environment. 
  • Experience managing engineering projects and/or process improvement initiatives. 
  • Experience developing and implementing engineering procedures, standards, or technical processes. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering, manufacturing, or production management systems. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. 
  • Professional registration, certification, or licensing, if required by applicable regulations

Preferred Characteristics

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, gas turbine engines, or MRO environments. 
  • Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory, performance, repair, or overhaul processes. 
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and cross-functional projects.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines. 
  • Strong project management, planning, budgeting, and risk management skills. 
  • Customer-focused with strong business acumen. 
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
