We are looking for a Federal Project Manager Engineering to manage programs or projects for DoD (Military Clients) and other Federal Agencies as an integral member of the HDR Washington Federal Team. Customers include NAVFAC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Air Force (USAF), National Guard Bureau (NGB) and other military and federal agencies across all facets of the US Government. Type of projects vary from design of Barracks/Dorms, Family Housing, tactical facilities, wastewater treatment, water lines, water resources, fuel tanks, airfield paving work, DD1391 preparation, and a variety of military planning studies. The Project Manager will lead and manage teams to execute the planning, design and construction support activities throughout the life of projects. The Project Manager will be fully responsible for achieving the scope, schedule, and profit for each assigned project to meet both client and company expectations. The candidate must develop and establish client relationships and be involved in the marketing, proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution & close-out.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Project Manager Engineering, we'll count on you to:
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out)
  • Responsibly for all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects
  • Produce and coordinate several small to medium project concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contratual design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable debelopment in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and worload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work in completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • This position is subject to a governmental background check

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, LEED AP, LEED BD+C
  • Experience with NAVFAC, USACE, AFCEC, NGB, OR DoD/DoW agencies
  • US Citizen with the ability to pass a background check to obtain a DoD common Card (CAC)
  • Understanding and prior work using FAR requirements
  • Experience delivering Federal Design Projects
  • Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in -person

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience inclusive of a minimum 2 years experience in project management
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
