Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Alaska Automation Capability (AAC) modernization effort. The selected candidate will serve as a technical lead supporting systems integration, requirements analysis, interface management, implementation planning, and modernization activities associated with the FAA Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) initiative.

  • This position is required to be on-site, located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Your Impact:

The Systems Integration Engineer will work closely with FAA stakeholders, operational users, vendors, subcontractors, and implementation teams to ensure successful integration of automation, communications, and digitization capabilities across Alaska Flight Service Stations.

  • Lead technical analysis activities supporting Voice Communication System (VCS) capability development and modernization.
  • Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings, engineering reviews, requirements workshops, and stakeholder coordination meetings.
  • Analyze operational, functional, performance, and interface requirements for aviation communication and automation systems.
  • Support development, review, and maintenance of requirements documentation, interface documentation, engineering assessments, and technical recommendations.
  • Evaluate integration impacts between AAC systems and external National Airspace System (NAS) components.
  • Support development of VCS requirements, verification criteria, and traceability documentation.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of proposed solutions and identify integration risks, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Support site surveys, facility assessments, and implementation planning activities across Alaska Flight Service Stations.
  • Coordinate with program management, engineering teams, vendors, and FAA stakeholders to ensure technical alignment and successful deployment execution.
  • Assist with development and review of Site Specific Implementation Plans, engineering drawings, technical reports, and deployment documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues affecting system integration, deployment schedules, or operational readiness.
  • Support Integrated Master Schedule planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Assist with test planning, operational readiness assessments, and deployment support activities.
  • Develop technical briefings, reports, and decision-support materials for program leadership and FAA stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience or Masters degree and 6 years' experience or Associate's degree and 10 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years' experience
  • Experience supporting systems engineering, systems integration, telecommunications, network infrastructure, aviation systems, or modernization programs.
  • Experience developing and analyzing system requirements and interface requirements.
  • Experience supporting complex technical programs involving multiple stakeholders and vendors.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, integration methodologies, and technical documentation practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA, NAS, Air Traffic, Flight Service, telecommunications, or aviation modernization experience.
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Aviation Systems, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with Voice Communication Systems (VCS), VoIP technologies, radio communications, or operational communications systems.
  • Experience supporting requirements development, verification, validation, and technical reviews.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed deployment efforts.
  • Familiarity with systems integration within mission-critical operational environments.

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
