Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager who is passionate about person-centric HIV care to join our Global Medical Affairs team. This individual will contribute to supporting the global launch of a pipeline asset (islatravir/lenacapavir) for HIV treatment by leading creation of educational content and supporting critical Medical Affairs deliverables pre- and post-launch. The Manager will work collaboratively with Global and US Medical Affairs teams as well as cross-functional partners within Gilead and Merck. This role will be based at our headquarters in Foster City, CA.


Key Responsibilities

  • As a content manager, serve as a key contributor and knowledge expert for the combination of islatravir/lenacapavir, as well as support materials across the HIV treatment portfolio
  • Collaborate with Director to develop Global Plan of Action and ensure alignment of team activities
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development, Global Strategic Marketing, Global Value and Access, Medical Affairs Research, affiliate and Merck Medical Affairs teams, and other cross-functional teams across varied initiatives including strategic plan implementation, scientific resource development, conference activities, and internal training materials/support
  • Manage the creation, review, and updating of Medical Affairs slide decks, infographics, medical narratives and other strategic resources
  • Provide training within the therapeutic area on relevant topics for Medical Affairs personnel and help create and review training materials
  • Attend major global scientific conferences to assess relevant information and support conference deck development and training
  • Independently manage projects related to analysis of new, emerging data and determine relevant information to incorporate into medical content and trainings
  • Develop and maintains HIV SharePoint Page to disseminate information and resources
  • Support HIV Medical Affairs Advisory Programs, as needed
  • Manage projects to completion, anticipating obstacles and difficulties that may arise, resolving them in collaborative manner

Basic qualifications:

  • 6+ Years with BS/BA
  • 4+ Years with MS/MA

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD or equivalent), with relevant clinical experience in HIV
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (1-3 years, ideally within Medical Affairs)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in developing PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to synthesize findings and clearly articulate implications from multiple sources of information and to formulate strong, actionable recommendations
  • Organized, attentive to detail and able to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize workload
  • Must be able to work with a level of autonomy and independence
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international conferences and internal meetings (5% expected)

The salary range for this position is: $146,540.00 - $189,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
