Job description

This role is part of Solta Medical's Global Strategic Marketing Team.  This role will create insight-driven strategies, be execution oriented, and work effectively with stakeholders.  The position will be the marketing representative on the product development teams from the concept phase through commercialization.  Strong collaboration across the global regions and with functional departments such as R&D, regulatory, quality, sales, operations and downstream marketing is a must for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research and development to establish unmet needs, translate to customer requirements and design specifications, and assist in validation activities.
  • Leverage customer insights, you will identify key unmet needs to create business cases, drive the strategic development and execution of our products through internal and external innovation.
  • Conduct market research to quantify the size of the addressable market, build market model, and assess financial implications of new product launches. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to meet milestones and ensure timely product launches with a high level of quality.
  • Understand competitive landscape, integrate business needs into the product and ensure desired claims are in marketing plan.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing & launch plans including value proposition, messaging, key claims, customer segmentation and targeting, pricing strategy and evidence-based strategy.
  • Closely communicate with regional partners throughout new product development process to capture primary market needs and smoothly transition management of products to downstream in preparation for launch.
  • Build and implement purposeful lifecycle management plans.  Work with all countries, regulatory, R&D, manufacturing (and other key functions) to outline plans and drive execution. 
  • Build strong relationships with downstream product marketing, KOLs, medical advisory board members and relevant societies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, able successfully define business objectives, strategies, tactics, and coordinate activities of cross functional teams to achieve set goals.
  • Strong strategic development skills, able to analyze complex data and identify key insights, opportunities, and risks.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills coupled with financial acumen ensuring mastery of the business case, ability to create complex market and financial models.
  • Strong organization and management skills, able to drive performance and consistently deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working collaboratively with individuals across multiple functional areas of the business.
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic, self-starter, able to work independently as well as collaboratively with various internal and external customers.
  • Familiar with global medical devices and FDA, CE regulatory submission requirements
  • Ability to develop expertise in assigned field - deep understanding of customer needs, application of products and technology
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

 Experience

  • Minimum of five years in Medical Device and Pharmaceutical in relevant roles.  Experience in Medical Aesthetics, Energy Based Devices, or Plastic Surgery products, preferred.   
  • Minimum of three years of product management, upstream marketing, or downstream marketing in medical devices, preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating and managing a multi-functional team and complex projects

The range of starting base pay for this role is $100K-138K.  Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
