A Day in the Life
Role Overview
Maybelline New York is looking for a visionary and operationally elite Director of Content Strategy and Production. You will be the architect of the brand's visual story across the entire consumer journey-with a specialized focus on "Connected Commerce" and "Low-Funnel" conversion.
You are a "Producer-Strategist" who understands that in the modern beauty landscape, the "cool factor" must be backed by conversion science. You will oversee a high-velocity production engine that delivers 30+ major global dossiers annually, ranging from high-impact 360 brand events to AI-enhanced "torture tests" and macro-texture photography. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and manage elite agency partnerships to ensure Maybelline remains the global leader in digital beauty.
Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in content production, creative agency, or brand-side beauty/fashion project management within a fast-paced environment.
  • Management: Minimum2+ years of experience managing direct reports and leading large production crews.
  • Technical Literacy: Expert knowledge of e-commerce platforms, digital marketing funnels, and production tools.
  • Data Driven: Ability to use quantitative data and e-comm performance metrics to inform creative strategy.
  • Deep understanding of content production workflows, including digital asset management and IP rights management.
  • Proventrack recordof successfully managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills,with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels.

Responsibilities
1. Global Content Strategy & Innovation
  • Omnichannel Vision: Define the annual global content strategy to accelerate growth across e-commerce, social commerce, and 360 brand activations.
  • Tech & AI Integration: Pioneerthe use of AI-driven technology for product visualization, and automated content enhancement.
  • Trend Forecasting: Monitorglobal content trends to keep the brand at the forefront of digital innovation.
  • Budget & ROI: Own the production budget, ensuring maximum efficiency and "best-in-class"spendacross all agency partners and internal resources.

2. Project Management & Content Workflow:
  • Oversee the end-to-end content lifecycle, from planning and production through to delivery and archiving, for assigned campaigns( productionpipeline for 30+ global dossiers). Ensure every asset-from "product candies" and routine videos to macro stills-is delivered on time and on brand.

  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve upon a centralized content calendar and retro-planning process.
  • Lead cross-functional team meetings,ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on timelines, deliverables, and any potential roadblocks.
  • Proactivelyidentifyand mitigate risks, clearly communicating delays and implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for agency partners,ensuring they adhere to deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • High-Volume Oversight: Lead the end-to-end production pipeline for 30+ global dossiers, ensuring every asset-from "product candies" and routine videos to macro stills-is delivered on time and on brand.
  • Conversion-First Content: Master the "Science of Low-Funnel" assets, overseeing the creation of efficacy demos, "torture tests" (waterproof/wear-tests), and shade-accurate educational content.
  • Guardian of Look & Feel: Serve as the ultimate authority on lighting, makeup application, and aesthetic quality on set, ensuring assets feel premium yet relatable and diverse.
  • Speed-to-Market: Maintaina high-velocity post-production workflow, managing retouching and editing loops to meet tight global launch windows.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Orchestration
  • Team Development: Manage, train, and inspire a team of full-time employees and consultants (Digital Specialists, Graphic Designers, Producers).
  • Cross-Functional Glue: Act as the primary bridge between Global Marketing, Zone leads, Product Managers, and Creative agencies to ensurea cohesivecustomer experience.
  • Agency Management: Constantlyevaluateand source the best agency partners in the industry, conducting annual reviews to ensure excellence and cost-efficiency.
