Job description

Landmark Bio is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT professional to oversee end-user technology, infrastructure, and IT operations supporting a regulated biotech environment. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support day-to-day business and laboratory operations.

The Senior Manager, IT will lead IT operations, manage vendors and managed service providers, and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure technology solutions support business needs while maintaining compliance with regulatory and security requirements.

This role requires strong technical depth, operational discipline, and the ability to work across multiple functions in a fast-moving organization.

Responsibilities

1. IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Maintain and support on-premise and cloud-hosted infrastructure, end-user devices, networking, and business applications

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT systems

  • Support regulated GxP laboratory and manufacturing environments

  • Manage user accounts, access control, device provisioning, and software deployment

  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems

Platforms include:

  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Office

  • Windows Server / Windows 10/11

  • Meraki network / Palo Alto firewall / VPN

  • FreshService, CyberReason, Kaseya, IT Glue, Autotask, Rocket Cyber, BullPhish, RMM, Spanning, Unitrends

  • Building security and monitoring systems

  • End-user hardware, printers, and conference room AV

  • Business systems including Smartsheet, Veeva, SAP, DocuSign, Okta, Adobe

  • Lab instrument user accounts and software installs

2. User Support & Experience

  • Ensure timely and effective IT support for employees and laboratory users

  • Improve reliability, usability, and performance of end-user systems

  • Partner with business teams to evaluate and implement new applications

  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and equipment lifecycle management

3. Vendor & Managed Service Provider Management

  • Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers

  • Monitor performance, costs, and service quality

  • Assist with contract renewals, budgeting, and vendor selection

4. Compliance & Security

  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation

  • Support CSA / SDLC / GxP / audit readiness activities

  • Ensure systems meet cybersecurity and data protection standards

  • Support validation and regulated system controls where required

5. Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead small to mid-size IT projects and system implementations

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and reliability

  • Support site expansion, lab build-out, and new system deployments

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 8+ years of IT experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, or regulated industry

  • Strong hands-on experience with end-user systems, infrastructure, and networking

  • Experience supporting cloud, SaaS, and on-premise environments

  • Experience working in GxP / regulated / manufacturing / lab environments preferred

  • Experience managing vendors and managed service providers

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced organization
