Health Information Management Clerk

Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa (IHCRC) is a nonprofit organization empowering the American Indian community through exceptional, culturally responsive healthcare. Our team-driven environment is rooted in community, respect, accountability, excellence, and stewardship, with a shared commitment to health promotion and disease prevention.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as the Health Information Management Clerk. The Health Information Management Clerk manages, organizes, and maintains the accuracy and compliance of IHCRC patient medical records. This role ensures medical records are in compliance with HIPPA and organizational standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accurate and timely scanning of documents into VISTA.
  • Process requests for records and invoicing.
  • Assist customers in person, on the telephone, fax, and mail.
  • Crosstrain on all medical records responsibilities.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required License, Certification, Education, Specialized Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years' experience working in a multi-provider, electronic medical records environment preferred.
  • Must be organized, accurate, and customer focused.
  • Familiarity and understanding of HIPAA regulations and application thereof preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
